Slope Stability
Installation of inclinometers and piezometers in 50m deep boreholes was recently undertaken on a landslip near Inverness to enable monitoring of groundwater and ground movement and prediction of further movements to ensure the safety of adjacent buildings and farm workers.
The cause of a landslip of 1500cubic metres of paper waste which flowed into a nearby river in Midlothian, Scotland has been investigated by drilling, soil sampling and soil and water testing and slope stability calculations and an innovative solution to excavate and compost the waste and re-establsh the former profile of the river valley is near completion of design.

Stabilisation of an old quarry rock face by careful rock removal and trimming of the lower slope and reducing the upper slope to a safe angle of repose and including use of rock anchors, a geotextile and seeded netting to produce a clean stable, safe and attractive rock face.
